Volunteering Opportunities
Volunteer Wardens
Are you are someone who’s been involved with Woodcraft Folk in the past and are looking for a different way to stay involved, or you are someone new to Woodcraft Folk but who’s visited the site with another group? Perhaps you are someone new to the whole idea. If you have some spare time and enthusiasm and are able to stay on site and great visiting campers we would love to hear from you.
Training will be provided and you will be working together with our site team.
Volunteer Wardens will work in collaboration with and be supported by the site team. In addition, a Warden’s site manual will be provided. Wardens will be accommodated either in the on-site cabin, which includes 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, a log burning stove and a private garden.
Monthly Volunteer Days
On the first Tuesday of each month through the camping season (March – October) we welcome volunteers to site.
Our regular volunteers take on a range of jobs, depending on the season. Summer months there are always plenty of painting and DIY jobs needed to maintain our buildings. Colder months might be planting trees and maintaining hedges on site.
There’s always time for a cuppa and a chat over lunch in the wonderful surroundings.
Refreshments (and usually lovely cakes) will be provided but we ask that you bring your own lunch.
All welcome!
Working Weekends
We hold several longer working weekends, generally a pre season event in late February, putting up Camp Koodoo in late April and a close of season weekend at the end of October.
There’s the chance to stay over and enjoy an evening camp-fire as well as being a time to get involved with some of our bigger projects.
Refreshments are provided, but you’ll need to bring your own camping kit and meals. Depending on availability there may be indoor accommodation available for some events.
Families welcome, there will be suitable jobs for everyone!
